Here are the first converted monsters from Battle Masters to Heroquest :

As you can see I am still looking for illustrations for my cards.

First battle

After a couple of learning skirmishes, I've pkayed the first battle with all the units against my 6 years old kid.
We only didn't use battlefield modifications such as the tower or the hedges.

The first point is that this game is perfectly playable by a young player since the rules are quite easy.
I was also very pleased to notice that the game system is very well balanced. And the victory remained uncertain for a long time.

The more tricky part is the figures management. Even though I had removed the flags to prevent any accident, some figures are often falling from their bases and the kids (and father) must be very careful not to break anything when moving around the table.

The last point is that the game lasted around 45 minutes which is, I think 15 minutes too much for the young kid to stay focused.
In conclusion, she enjoyed the game (even though she was defeated) which is the most important.

Next steps are playing with the eldr ones, including all the elements and finally having the kids playing one against the other with dad as a game master...

To be continued...

Out of the dungeon, into battle.

Received, checked repaired and ready to battle.

I finally got it ! The original Battle Masters in French version.
Almost complete, it just lacks 2 haleberdiers (if someone has them and is ready to sell them, I may be interested...) and a couple of tokens.

I aloso had to fix a few broken parts, which is quite not surprising considering it is a very old game.
Much of the flags had to be repaired and moved to their correct colored pole.

Eventually I could try with the kids and the game passed the final exam : kids approved !

Chances are some of the figures are soon going to venture in the dungeons. They would fit perfectly OpenQuest !
